I have sown foxglove, antirrhinum and cornflower seeds. I also sowed some morning glory seed from a packet that I bought several years ago but never opened (the use by year on the packet is 2010). I didn't soak the seed overnight as suggested.

First sowing of the season
Yesterday was my traditional first seed-sowing day of the year, so I sowed some tomatoes (using the same packets of seed as for the last 3 years or so, so varieties are Marmande, Gardener's Delight and Moneymaker).
I also sowed the seed I saved last year from the white polyanthus (which have all since died), and some marigold and rudbeckia, all of which also came from plants I grew last year.
I hereby declare this year's gardening season open!

Green manure update
On last week's Gardeners' World, Monty Don dug in his green manure, so I did the same today. As recommended on the seed packet, I cut the green manure and left it on the surface for a couple of hours before digging it in (Monty didn't do that). I then dug it in with a spade, trying to turn each clod upside down before dropping it back.
It was quite difficult to get it completely dug in, so I left a bit sticking out.
