I bought some Pentland Javelin seed potatoes today.

I planted all of the Rocket potatoes; 3 rows of 5 in the greenhouse bed, and the same in the large bed (except I crammed one extra in 2 of the rows as there were 17 potatoes left). I left room in the large bed for the courgette etc.

I cut down the green manure, then dug it in (any clumps of roots I pulled out and left down the garden to dry out). I then dug in some sacks of farmyard manure (2 in the large veg bed, one in the old greenhouse bed).

Green Manure update

Green Manure was most successful in the large veg bed (top), slightly sparse in the old fig tree bed (bottom) and hardly present at all in the old greenhouse bed (middle). We had heavy rain in the days following the sowing last autumn, don't know if that accounts for the less than fantastic growth.
