Most of the shrivelled-up Arran Pilot seed potatoes that I planted at this year's second tranche on 10 July have come up. Today I filled the gaps with supermarket-bought spuds that I've been chitting for a while.

Potatoes harvested
Harvested the potatoes today - got an enormous crop, with some huge potatoes!
I planted the arran pilot potatoes that have been chitting since April? May? but they look all shrivelled and almost dead so I may have wasted my time. Gave them a good watering - hopefully they'll grow. I took off some of the sprouty bits, leaving just one sprout on each spud.

Spud update
Those spuds that were affected by the frost have now caught up. Have been feeding them with Miracle-Gro.

Spud update
I think the frost we had a couple of weeks ago has affected some of the spuds. All those in the wisteria bed are looking dodgy, whereas most of the spuds in the main bed look ok.

Spuds planted
I planted the Arran Pilot spuds that I started chitting on 16 February. As advised by Monty Don on GW, I removed all but one of the sprouty bits on each potato before planting. I planted 4 rows of 3 spuds in the large veg bed, and the same in the wisteria bed (except for 1 row which had 2 spuds in as I only had 11 spuds left).

Daffodil, Iris Reticulata and Carex update
This container was planted up with a mix of Tesco daffodils and Winston Churchill daffodils. The Tesco daffs have no flowers, the Churchill are just surfacing.
